Don’t leave home without it

I think I’m a pretty good packer when I travel. OK, so I take way too much, but if your plane crashes and you have to survive on a desert island for months, believe me, you’ll want to be washed up on the beach next to me — you’ll want for absolutely nothing, and that’s just courtesy of my handbag!

As a compulsive list maker, I create a list of all the things I need to take — and just like Santa, I make a list and check it twice. However, I never think to keep the list for future trips, so I have to start all over again next time I travel.

Now you can create a printable packing list online at PackingWiz.com and save it for the next time you take off on a trip. To kick your personalised list off, the site provides lists of common items you might want to take on a trip, divided into categories such as clothing, food, personal items, gadgets, and so on. There’s even a list of things to do before you leave on your trip.

You can then tick the items you want on your list and add extra things you’d like to take, plus you can add in quantities and make notes. You can then save your list on the site (you need to set up a free account to do this) and print it out so you can tick stuff off as you pack it. You can even share your lists with others.

Who knows, maybe I’ll even remember my hairbrush next time I travel using these lists! It’s the one thing I always leave behind and have to buy when I get to my destination. In fact, I am travelling at the moment and yes, you guessed it; another hairbrush to add to my already substantial stash!
