Shrink files on the fly online

If you need to send large files, but you don’t have access to your favourite file compression tool — say, when you are using someone else’s computer or you’re at an Internet cafe when you’re away on holidays and want to send large image files to the folks back home — check out the online file compression service on the Filetac site.

And best of all, the service is free.

All you need to do is upload your files to the site by clicking on the Browse button, then click on the Compress button to have the site combine and compress your files into a zip file. You can then download the zipped file and do with it as you wish.

You can upload a maximum of 30 files with a maximum file size of 10M, which should be more than adequate for the scenarios described above.

Filetac also performs other services you might like to check out: you can upload ringtones and more to WAP-enabled phones, upload  large files for sharing with others (maximum 2G),  and upload images to share on blogs and forums (maximum 2M).
