Showcase your baby memories

KidmondoLet’s face it, once you’ve gone through all the hard work of pushing out that baby, you naturally want to skite about what a good product you produced.

Online chronicling service Kidmondo lets you do just this, and you can do it for free. Once you register on the site, you can create an online journal where you can detail the day-to-day highlights of your child’s life. You can also upload photos and video, plus you can keep a record of your child’s physical progress via the growth chart.

Other handy features are the medical journal, where you can document important health information such as immunisations and childhood illnesses, and the food journal lets you keep track of first meals, which can help you identify any food allergies if they manifest themselves.

You can also bring the whole kit and caboodle together in the timeline feature, so you can track those early achievements and milestones in context.

Your content is private and can only be viewed by you and friends and family members who you give access to. This adds a real social networking aspect to your journal.

The free account lets you store up to 500M of data and keep up to three separate jounrals. If you need more space, more journals or both, you can upgrade to a premium account for $US39 a year — for that, you get unlimited journals, a storage limit of 5G and no ads (the free account does include some ads).

Kidmondo is a great way to document all those little things that you often forget down the track and it makes a lovely keepsake for your child in later years. It’s also a great way to share with loved ones who can’t physically experience your child’s life journey.

US users can have a printed book of their journal, but the site is working on other ways that you can take your content with you, presumably via an export option, which will make the site an even more compelling choice.
