OneLook Reverse Dictionary
A dictionary is a brilliant resource when you need to find the meaning of a word, but unfortunately you need to know the word first. So what can you do if you already know the meaning of a word, but you don’t know or can’t recall the actual word? For instance, what if you need to know what a barrel maker is called? You won’t find ‘barrel maker’ in a dictionary.
Well, there’s help at hand online. The OneLook Reverse Dictionary lets you enter the information you do know and presents you with a list of possible words that fit the bill, in order of probable match.
You can then click on any of the results to be taken to a dictionary explanation and an explanation of the word’s origin.
