Keep an inventory of your valuables online
When it comes to computer backups, many people think they are bullet-proof until their hard drive goes belly up and they lose all their valuable data. That’s when they tend to become almost evangelical about securing the things that important to them.
And so it is with detailing the things you have insured. What if you have a break-in or a fire? How are you going to get your things replaced if you don’t have them documented? It’s no use putting the information in your computer, as that’s the first thing that will be taken in a robbery. And if you have a fire, it won’t matter where you have those detailed stored if it’s somewhere in the house.
That’s where the My Photo Inventory Web site comes in. It lets you upload photographs, add descriptions as well as the location, value, brand, model and serial number of any items you have of value and store all that information securely online for free. The site even recommends the things you should have on your inventory.
