Track Deals of the Day

If you are a fan of the deals of the day offered by several Aussie online retailers — products offered at a super special price for just 24 hours or until sold, whichever comes first — you can save yourself some time each day by using one of the three aggregators listed below to view the deals together in one spot, rather than flitting form site to site.

On each site, you can click through to the retailer’s site if a special takes your fancy to find descriptions and specifications for the item on offer and proceed with its purchase if you choose.

Here are three aggregators to make your bargain hunting easier:

BargainHunter

BargainHUnter

BargainHunter is a small, bare-b0nes application that you can download from the Web site of multi-award-winning Australian IT journalist Darren Yates. It lists what’s on sale for the day and their prices from the following sites: www.catchoftheday.com.au, www.zazz.com.au, www.crazysales.com.au, www.topbuy.com.au and www.oo.com.au.

Once downloaded, the program sits in your system tray (a black square icon) and you can right-click on it and click on Find Deals to see what bargains are currently on offer.

Deal Sucker

DealSucker

DealSucker lists the deals of the day for www.crazysales.com.au, www.catchoftheday.com.au, www.dailygizmo.com.au, www.ozstock.com.au, www.misszoe.com.au, www.zazz.com.au, www.easytoys.com.au, www.oo.com.au, www.eBay.com.au and www.1-day.com.au. It lists prices and shipping, the time left to buy and the popularity of each product.

Unlike BargainHunter, this is a Web site listing rather than an application.

DealDump

DealDump

DealDump has a One Day Deals section on its site. It lists 24-hour specials for www.ozstock.com.au, www.catchoftheday.com.au, www.topbuy.com.au, www.zazz.com.au, www.oo.com.au, www.dailygizmo.com.au, www.crazysales.com.au and www.1-day.com.au.

It shows an image of each product and a link to its site, but you can’t tell which site is which without clicking through.

As you can see from the descriptions, none of the above sites list all of the deal-a-day sites, DealSucker is the most comprehensive and provides the most useful information.
