Be part of history with the ABC
If you’ve got an interesting story to tell about your life or the life of a family member, the ABC is providing the perfect opportunity for you to share it with others.
In its Making of Modern Australia project, the public broadcaster is gathering stories from ordinary Australians about their lives and experiences since 1945 in what will be a priceless resource for future generations.
Once you register on the sign (it’s free), you can enter your story, along with images and/or video if you choose. You can then send a link to friends and family, so they can read your story, and other site members can comment on your story and you on theirs.
You can take a video guided tour of the site, plus there are helpful videos that take you through important aspects of your story, such as how to pick a good title and what makes a good story.
You can read contributors’ stories in the Story Gallery, search for stories on particular topics, and see on a map of Australia where contributior stories ar based.
